Pottery By The Pound Seconds Sale
IT'S BACK.  After a four year absence the POTTERY-BY-THE-POUND SALE is here again, bigger and better than ever.  For those who have never experienced this sale here's what to expect.  Start loading pots on the scale until it tips 20 pounds, you will be amazed at the mountain of pots. The sale is Friday,  May 11th and Saturday, May 12th.  Don't miss this one because who knows when it might return!

Pandora Jewelry- Six new clips and Thirteen new charms just in time for Mothers Day. 

Keith Lewis Studio- fabulous kinetic jewelry with moving parts make a wonderful addition to any ear!

Eye Think- holographic cards and mobiles are art in action that make great mailable gifts.

Don Drumm- Bend a Sculptures are a fun and exciting addition that let you be the artist!

The Follette Pottery Store has one more new addition, me, Cate Davis. If you’re in the area come by and introduce yourself, I’m so excited to meet all the loyal Follette customers out there!



Let's Take a Walk

Beginning this month, we’d like to take you on a walking tour of the store. Each month we will take a stroll through a different area just to let you know what we're excited about.  We know many of you live out of town and don’t get by the store as often as you would like, so we would like to bring the store to you! We’ll start the tour off with the jewelry counter, because we love jewelry!



Desert Heart Jewelry
We have proudly carried Desert Heart Jewelry for over a year. Desert Heart Jewelry is specially crafted with Austrian crystal, vintage beads, metal stampings, and freshwater pearls.


BLUE BUS

Tim Garvin of Blue Bus Studio puts a unique spin on the ancient art of millefiori to create wonderful porcelain accessories. Over 500 different colors of clay are used to create the one of a pieces made in Durham, NC



Jeff Gray

Jeff Gray Jewelry offers exquisite handmade sterling silver cuff bracelets inspired by nature and architecture. A native of Vermont, Jeff Gray has been a jeweler for thirty years who constantly strives to create a clean, elegant collection.



Barb Wire
Barbie Levy has been creating her jewelry from wire and glass tubing for some time now. She offers a variety of earrings and necklaces in bright and vibrant colors that make wonderful gifts.

For a limited time only, our teal glaze is back on the racks. Kent happened to run across these long lost boxes while looking for his old bowling trophies.  For all you teal collectors out there, this is the chance you've been waiting for to add to your collection.



Salsa Saturday

Calling all Cooks! Start getting your recipes together for the Screamin Owl Salsa Cook-Off.  September 8th is the date, so start thinking about your recipes now. Our inspiration for this event was the Screamin Owl Salsa made here in Ruston at the Methodist Childrens Home. We carry all four flavors, so come get your jar at the store today. Ole`!



Pot Of the Month- Fish Baker
Spring time at the Follette house means fishing, and if we're lucky that means fish. The Fish Baker was developed by Kent so that he could take his Red fish from the oven to the table. These fish bakers make great gifts for the fish lover in your life. Here's an easy recipe that reels it in!

Andy's Pecan Encrusted Salmon

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup Sprite
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 8 oz. crushed pecans
  • 1 8 oz. salmon fillet

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, salt , pepper, and sprite together to make paste
  2. Salt and pepper both sides of  Salmon fillet
  3. Brush Salmon with paste and push fillet into grated cheese
  4. Brush Salmon with one more coat of paste and push down into pecans
  5. Bake for 15 minutes in Follette Fish Baker at 350 degrees, or until golden brown.
